Alex J Robinson has been honing her craft and refining her art for almost a dozen years now. Having started singing at the tender age of eight, this Sudbury, Ontario native has compiled some impressive credentials and racked up amazing experiences as she celebrates her 22nd birthday. In the Canadian Open Country Music Competitions of 1996 & 1997 she placed 4th and 2nd respectively (this at 11 & 12 years old mind you!) and has since taken every opportunity to keep singing. Whether it has been belting out the anthems at the Dome or The Gardens, performing at Bluebird North, singing jingles for Tim Horton's, McDonald's or Ford, or singing demos for SonyBMG (for the Canadian Idol Songwriting Camp), Alex continues to showcase her amazing vocal ability whenever and wherever she can. And well she should. Her range, control and pitch are nothing short of spectacular and her live performances are spellbinding. Alex recorded and mixed her debut project of all-original material with producer and co-writer Tim Thorney (Alanis Morissette, Jimmy Rankin, Brian Byrne, Chisai Jackson) at Eastern Studios in Toronto. Mastering was done by none other than the legendary Bob Ludwig at Gateway Mastering. Players on the album include such studio luminaries as Rick Gratton (drums), Scott Alexander (bass), Eric Schenkman (guitars), Doug Johnson (steel), Don Reed (fiddle), Brian Barlow (percussion) and of course Tim (on guitars, banjo, & bass.) We are also fortunate enough to have Joel Feeney and Neill Donnell singing on the tracks as well. | Tracks
