Black Blood marks the third instalment in the Bionic discography and by far can be considered their best and most aggressive moment yet. Their first record has been heralded as “one of the most brutalizing pop records since Husker Du’s Zen Arcade” while their critically acclaimed follow up Deliverance was championed by U.K. metal magazine Kerrang! Their new album sees them still breaking new ground with their own gnarled mix of punk meets 70’s rock with elements of Devo, Fripp, free jazz and psychedelia .

Recorded at Breakglass studios and produced by the band themselves, they’ve enlisted the musical help from their friends in the burgeoning Montreal musical community like Tricky Woo, Silver Mt. Zion, Land Of Talk, The Besnard Lakes, Xavier Cafeine and even a marching band complete with cheerleaders.

Make no bones about it, Black Blood is as rocking as it gets but still manages to push the envelope and prove that loud rock music can still evolve out of the mire.
