With his Alligator debut, 2006’s Change In The Weather, songwriter/guitarist/vocalist ERIC LINDELL introduced himself as a contemporary roots artist with a strong New Orleans flavor and even stronger crossover appeal. A ton of adult rock radio spins, a load of national and regional press raves, over a year’s worth of national tour dates and over 11,000 U.S. scans later, Eric is primed to reach an even bigger audience with LOW ON CASH, RICH IN LOVE. Change In The Weather’s first single, “Give It Time,” posted an impressive AAA and Americana station list, spent 14 weeks on R&R’s Indicator Chart, hit the Top 20 on FMQB’s AAA Song Chart and garnered enough overall airplay to make the year-end R&R Indicator Chart. Meanwhile, national and international press were discovering Eric and praise poured in from Guitar Player, Harp, DownBeat, Relix, Vintage Guitar, the Chicago Sun-Times, New Yorker, New York Press, New Orleans Times-Picayune, Jazz & Tzaz (Greece), Berner Zeitung (Switzerland), Exclaim (Canada), RHTYHMS (Australia) and many more. For LOW ON CASH, RICH IN LOVE, Alligator radio (with the help of indie promoters) and press are gearing up for another aggressive run at airplay and print support. Eric Lindell has toured practically non-stop since the release of Change In The Weather, knocking out club, theatre and festival audiences from New York to Los Angeles to Canada with a bluesy, funky, soul-soaked show. Among the highlights were main stage performances at the 2006 & 2007 New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festivals and the Great Southern Blues & Rockabilly Festival ’07 in Narooma, Australia. With LOW ON CASH, RICH IN LOVE, Eric will hit the road in early February for months of tour dates beginning in the Northeast. Alligator will be working the dates hard, placing stories in regional print and setting up interviews and in-studio appearances at radio. LOW ON CASH, RICH IN LOVE is a potent new batch of tracks, with Eric Lindell’s rich, smoky vocals leading the way through an infectious blend of smoldering heart-tuggers (the first radio single, “Lay Back Down”), rhythm-heavy workouts (“Low On Cash”), Crescent City grooves (“Mind Your Business”) and Latin-tinged R&B (“Tried And True”). Throughout, Eric’s road-tested band provides splendid support, brimming with deep-in-the-pocket grooves and razor sharp soloing. |
